We first met Lewis Watson through the covers he posted on his YouTube channel in 2010. Now, seven years later and after two years of hard work, he is releasing his second LP, ‘midnight’, an album full of songs that show how he has matured as a songwriter and that will resonate with a larger audience.
‘midnight’ is a bigger, bolder, and more experimental album but still as brutally honest and achingly intimate as his early works. Lewis is accompanied by a band in most of the tracks but has also included some stripped-back songs, more similar to his first releases. In Lewis’ words, this album “is grander, heavier and more electronic. I still like acoustic music – and there are some quieter songs on there – but I also love Death Cab For Cutie, Bombay Bicycle Club and Bon Iver. It is a big change, but it’s still me. Maybe me with added spice.”
